Pondering complications if I went ahead with #degoogle and what replacements I may need for things like FeedBurner…
- Terra Ezeri and lnxwalt (lnxwalt280) repeated this.

As in pushing out a feed, or looking at feeds?

@alpacaherder I could probably drop #Google in two weeks if not for a few services like #Feedburner and #AppEngine.

@lnxwalt280 @alpcaherder I think that I will drop #google (again) within the next few days along with a bunch of extra accounts.

@alpacaherder brdcst.it? good luck with deleting adsense if it’s attached to your feedburner. I have been battling for months to close mine.

@parlementum Yep, I forgot to mention #Adsense. And #Blogger.

@parlementum @alpacaherder Depending on how you’re using #Feedburner, #BrdcstIt may not replace its functions.

Blogger is rather easy to replace. Wordpress (even on Wordpress.com ) is what I switched to from LiveJournal, and I don’t regret it in the least. That platform has been a treat for my blogging habits.

@teradyne Yeah, actually, I’ve been using wordpress.com. I just haven’t migrated my content over from Blogger.

I stopped using Voice when I realized how little I need it. I have standard voicemail, and my plan has unlimited texting (where Voice has a 250 daily limit on sending them).

@psquid @whistlewright I actually received an e-mail telling me my voice number would be closed if I did not use it.

@lnxwalt280 I don’t mess with #AppEngine but #FeedBurner is kinda important

@lnxwalt280 Nuking AdSense participation would be interesting as I frankly can’t find a way to do it

@parlementum I don’t think brdcst.it will do as I’m more trying to make nicer feeds carrying payloads of media files

@lnxwalt280 #FeedBurner mainly plays a role in normalizing RSS feeds to ensure payloads appear consistently. The tracking is useful but at

@lnxwalt280 this point I can do without it provided I can get data from Blake instead.

@teradyne use it.

@teradyne That probably has to do with PSTN number scarcity issues. If you’re not using a number it can be reassigned to somebody who will

That’s definitely a good policy, then, and I applaud them for that courtesy.
