   Aah, it seems my problem is lack of memory, the new box only has 512MB of RAM, I guess I need a more minimal distro for this one.

     @jpope cli is a given :) I’m planning on making the box a backup webserver, so it’ll be headless once I have it configured.

     @jonkulp I’ve tried Ubuntu, Debian, Gentoo and Fedora in major installs, and used ttylinux and tiny core for specific tasks, maybe it’s time to give Arch a try.

     @kevingranade arch will be good but if you want a 5-minute install then crunchbang is it. Runs well on 512mb too.

     @jonkulp I’m drifting away from Debian-based, I’ve spent most of my time on them and want to broaden my horizons a bit. Thanks though.
